Petronas, DBKK, DBKL Receive Prestigious Geoinnovation Award

Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (DBKK), Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) and a number of other organisations have been selected to receive a prestigious award for their use of geospatial technologies to support the country’s vision of Transformasi Nasional (TN50).

The GeoInnovation Award, which was presented by Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environment YB Datuk Ir. Dr. Haji Hamim Bin Samuri at the Esri Malaysia User Conference, recognises the creative use of location-based analytics technology in addressing social, economic, business and environmental challenges in their communities.

Dutch Lady Malaysia Announces New Managing Director

Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad (Dutch Lady Malaysia) today announces the appointment of Tarang Gupta as its new Managing Director, effective 1 January 2018 and succeeding Saw Chooi Lee who has successfully helmed the company in Malaysia the last three years. 

Tarang is currently the Marketing Director of FrieslandCampina Nigeria Plc, a position he has held since July 2014.  Prior to this, he was the International Marketing Director – Infant & Toddler Nutrition (ITN) for FrieslandCampina AMEA, Singapore from 2010-2014. Tarang, a graduate of Institute for Technology & Management, Bangalore, India, has 16 years of commercial experience, including his tenure with Sara Lee International, Kuala Lumpur.

Axiata Digital Collaborates with MDEC to extend its API Platform as a services gateway for Malaysian businesses into regional markets in Asia

Axiata Digital, the digital services arm of Axiata Group Berhad, will extend the services of its Application Programming Interface (API) platform, known as Mobile Internet Fulfilment Exchange (MIFE), to Malaysian businesses as a gateway into the regional marketplace across its footprint countries in ASEAN and South Asia. 

Collaborating with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) via its Malaysia Digital Hub initiative, the extension of Axiata Digital’s MIFE platform will enhance regional market access for Malaysian businesses consisting of domestic and global tech companies. MDEC’s Malaysia Digital Hub provides start-ups and tech entrepreneurs the connections and dynamic workspace to achieve rapid growth. It also offers incentives for growth to start-ups, investors, global tech companies, accelerators, and talent builders to help businesses achieve scale.

ALAS 2.0 - Lawyers Urged To Seize Opportunities In Islamic Finance Space

Legal practitioners are urged to always be ahead of the curve in order for them to discharge their roles responsibly and effectively. This is especially important in the new environment created under the Islamic Finance Services Act (IFSA).

The president of the Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM) Datuk Mohd Redza Shah Abdul Wahid says the liberalisation of legal sector under the amendments of the Legal Profession Act 1976 and the Legal Profession Rules 2014 will also significantly benefit the Islamic banking industry as it gives more options for banks to choose and retain best legal experts.
