Samsung has unveiled its latest flagships, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ with new and innovative features.
“The Galaxy S9 and S9+ now come with new AR emoji, Super Slow-more and Super Low-light features. These enable consumers to discover and re-imagine a whole new level of visual communication, tailored to their own unique voices.
““The S9 and S9+ were inspired by today’s way of communicating on the social media landscape. Self- expression has evolved and gone are the days where consumers texted each other to convey their thoughts. Instead, they now use images, videos and emojis,” said Samsung Malaysia Electronics head of IT and mobile business, KM Liew.
He added that Samsung has pushed their latest smartphones to another level by redesigning and upgrading the camera. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ cameras are built with a Super Speed Dual Pixel sensor with dedicated processing power and memory to take amazing superior quality shots.
This features able users to shift the aperture from f/1.5 to f/2.4 that lets in more light when it’s dark and less light when it’s too bright for clearer, sharper photos, as well as a front-facing 8-megapixel (f/1.7) camera for shooting selfies.
In addition to that, users are also now able to express themselves in brand-new ways with the bew AR Emoji and Super Slow-mo features.
AR Emoji features allows users to create an emoji that looks and acts almost exactly like them while the Super Slow-mo function which is a video recording of up to 960 frames per second, allows users to expand their creativity.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ upgraded their display as well. Compared to its predecessor, Samsung’s latest flagship now features a new, bold, and bright Super AMOLED Infinity Display that looks great even under direct sunlight.
The S9 features a 5.8in Quad HD curved Super Amoled screen, while the S9+ has a larger 6.2in screen.
Both phones audio support Dolby Atmos, giving the effect of a 360-degree, impressive cinematic sound.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ give users the peace of mind knowing that their phone is protected by Knox 3.1, Samsung’s latest defense-grade security platform. The Galaxy S9 and S9+’s Intelligent Scan feature supports three different biometric authentication options – iris, fingerprint, and facial recognition so users can choose the way they want to protect their device and applications.
South Korean actor Park Bo-gum, best known for his acting from “Love in the Moonlight” and “Reply 1988”, made an appearance at the official Malaysian launch and gave demonstrations on some of the smartphone’s features.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be available starting today on March 16. Offered at a recommended retail price from RM3,299 to RM4,399, it will be available in Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple.
