Amanie Care Foundation (ACF) kicked off its Basic Literacy Programme 2025 in early January, continuing the success of its 2024 initiative. This six-month programme remains a core effort in ACF’s mission to enhance literacy among primary school students who struggle with reading and writing skills.
Building on its achievements in 2024, where the programme was conducted in two schools in Kedah, specifically in Jitra and Alor Setar, this year’s initiative has expanded to five schools across Kelantan and Langkawi, Kedah, reaching 150 students from underserved communities. The sessions are being conducted with the support of Guru Pemulihan and Guru Bahasa, ensuring students receive tailored and structured literacy support.
The programme adopts a small-group learning approach, allowing for a personalised and interactive method of teaching. By integrating structured and specialised learning modules and expert-led teaching methodologies, students are equipped with fundamental reading and writing skills. Regular assessments and feedback sessions ensure progress is effectively monitored, with adjustments made to enhance learning outcomes.
ACF’s Basic Literacy Programme aligns with its broader mission to reduce educational disparities among underprivileged students. By working closely with the State Education Department, local schools, and NGOs, ACF remains committed to expanding access to literacy support. Between 2024 and 2026, the foundation aims to introduce this programme to more schools, ensuring that students from low-income backgrounds receive the educational assistance they need to succeed.
“Ensuring children gain fundamental literacy skills is essential for their future success. Through this programme, we are equipping students with the knowledge and confidence they need to pursue greater opportunities,” said Azizah Nasir, General Manager of ACF.
Since its inception, Amanie Care Foundation has been at the forefront of education and community development, driving positive change in the lives of children and marginalised communities across Malaysia.
