Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand (DITP), HeroMarket and HPG Marketing Sdn Bhd jointly organized ‘Sabai Sabai Thai Food Festival 2018’ that took place at all HeroMarket outlets from August 3 to 5.
The festival offered a wide range of Thai food products and snacks to the expected 70,000 visitors.
“Over the past few years, we have observed an increasing demand in quality Thai products from Malaysian consumers.
“The Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand chose to collaborate with HeroMarket because of their enthusiasm and constant support as well as having the same vision,” said Ministry of Commerce of Thailand Department of International Trade Promotion, Patcha Wutipanof.
The food products that were available include innovative fruit snacks from J Fruit, famous Thai confectionery brand as well as snacks and beverages from international brands that are produced in Thailand such as Schweppes +C Lemon Flavour Soft Drink, Malee 100% juices, Birdy 3-in-1 coffee, Hales Blue Boy Syrup and many more.
HPG Marketing managing director, Soh Vleong said that they have been bringing in Thai products for about seven years and saw the positive reaction of Malaysians towards Thai products.
“We hope, in time, this will pave the way to increase the demand of Thai products for Malaysians,” he added.
Thai cultural performances and workshops that showcased Thailand’s exquisite blend of culture and heritage was held from August 3 to 5 and the festival will continue on August 16 to 18 at Desa Tebrau Johor Bahru with more Thai cultural performances and international performances.
In conjunction with the festival, consumers who spend more than RM30 at HeroMarket Desa Tebrau are entitled for a free 15-minute Thai massage courtesy of Thai Odyssey.
In addition, for every RM5 purchase of Thai products at the Hero Market outlets from August 3 to 31, consumers are eligible to participate in a lucky draw.
The first prize winner will receive two return flight tickets to Phuket with accommodation for a four days three night stay, the second prize winner will receive two return flight tickets to Hua Hin, with accommodation for a three day two night while the third, fourth and fifth prize winner will receive a hamper worth RM500, RM300 and RM200 respectively.
