Headstart Academy, a premier EIP program, was finally launched with the signing of the lease agreement between Headstart Group founder, Khairul Razman Ramly and PKNS Real Estate chief executive officer, Fakru Radzi Ab Ghani.
“The academy focuses on early intervention that utilizes a proven EIP curriculum from the Saint Clare School of Special Education.
“Saint Clare’s is the longest tenured privately owned special needs education school in Singapore and Headstart utilises their curriculum as the academic basis for learning and education.
“We will also offer after-class extra-curricular program which will help develop both the mind and body of each child.
“All our teachers and therapists are well-qualified, trained and experienced in their own respective fields,” said Khairul.
He added that Headstart Academy and Headstart Therapy its sister arm, is a program with the facilities and services he would want for his own child while Yayasan Khayr Ayden, is a foundation he established to help underprivileged special needs children and their families.
Headstart Academy and Headstart Therapy employs a unique management structure as it is designed as a partnership with management and employees, to empower their teachers, therapists and staff who are passionate about educating and caring for special needs children.
“Since its founding on March 26, 2012, PREC has spent over RM11.5 million in subsidy annually and distributed up to RM100,000.00 through in-cash and in-kind sponsorship every year.” said Fakru Radzi Ab Ghani while expressing his support for the initiative by Headstart Academy as education is one of the pillars of PREC’s CSR program.
Katyana Azman, a child psychologist and also an advisor to Headstart Academy, came to share with participants about the importance of early screening and assessment for early intervention for children with special needs like autism.
Also present at the launch include, Kelvin Ng and Pr. Prakalathan Kelaver, owners of Saint Clare’s School for Special Education and Adli Yahya, founder of the Autism Cafe Project as well as a number of parents and stakeholders from the special needs community.
