B’Eats Malaysia is the first company to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Entrepreneurship Movement Association (GEM), under University of Malaya Centre of Innovation & Commercialization (UMCIC).
Founded by a group of passionate millennials, B'Eats Malaysia is an online food marketplace that serves as a bridge to connect customers with home-based chefs in order to satisfy those with craving for home-cooked food.
CY Lai, the founder and current Chief Executive Officer of B’Eats Malaysia said, “We aspire to develop an innovative business concept where it serves dual motivation in presenting heart-warming delights while supporting passionate talents in starting up a cooking business without hefty cost. This is also to empower more women to start a career at home and live a sustainable life.”
Low Ngai Yuen, Executive Director, GEM also shared, “We would like to bring the idea of sharing home cook meals with public even further by sourcing more home-based chefs and introduce them to this new business model. We want to build an ecosystem that enables everyone to live a better life, especially to those who are from the lower socioeconomic status.” B’Eats is not only keen to play their part in using technology to uplift the B40 entrepreneurs; but also aims to help and introduce the chefs from lower-middle income group an easier and cheaper way to start a business.
Meanwhile, the phrase “Its your tummy that we care” pertinently describes the mission and commitment of B’Eats – to bring quality food to the public.
Currently, there are more than 80 avid chefs part of this venture that serve different cuisines including Western, Chinese, pork-free, Indian, vegetarian, and even Low-Carb for those who are on a diet plan. Chef Kelly Lam, one of the participating chefs, shared, “I always cook for my family, so, why not leverage on this opportunity to share my food with others.”
Besides bringing in more meal options to the public, B’Eats has created the opportunity for housewives, retirees, and home-based chefs to spend their time with a better reason.
“I was introduced by a friend to B’Eats, so, I took a chance to try it, to earn some passive income”, said Chef Anderson. CY Lai further expressed that, “It is really a place where talent chef meets the foodie. I wish people who love to eat like me gets to enjoy home-cook delights too.”
B’Eats has expanded their serving areas across the Klang Valley. While B’Eats aims to provide convenience to the customers, meals ordered will be delivered right to their doorstep within the selected timeslot. With B’Eats, home-cook food has never been so reachable.
