Kuala Lumpur, 25 October 2021 – Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (“Alliance Bank” or the “Bank”) recently successfully raised funds through its Solidarity with Our Community campaign to provide more than 1,300 food boxes and necessities to vulnerable communities.
The campaign saw Alliance Bank’s employees, management and the Malaysian public raise funds and support local communities impacted by the pandemic. The Bank matched employees’ and the community’s fundraising efforts by providing a 2-to-1 match for every ringgit donated. Funds were raised via SocioBiz, Alliance Islamic Bank’s Shariah-compliant social crowdfunding platform.
Mercedes-Benz has finalized the planning for a regional After-Sales Logistics Center in Malaysia. Located in Senai Airport City - Johor Bahru, Mercedes-Benz signed a long-term lease agreement for the location, where start of operations planned for the beginning of 2024. For the development of the new building Mercedes-Benz has found a partner in the developer Tiong Nam Logistics Solutions Sdn Bhd. The company will be in the lead for developing the location and the owner of the new warehouse.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, October 22, 2021 – Alibaba DAMO Academy, the global research initiative by Alibaba Group, has unveiled a cloud-based AI-powered nowcasting platform capable of predicting short-term weather conditions up to six hours in advance.
The Short-term AI Weather Forecasting Platform, now available to Alibaba Cloud’s clients in China, produces high-resolution imagery with one-kilometer grid spacing with updates available every 10 minutes. Capable of tracking rainfall, wind speed as well as severe weather conditions such as thunder and hailstorms, the platform promises to deliver tangible value to weather-dependent sectors, including agriculture, logistics, transportation and renewable energy.
