Kuala Lumpur, 16 July 2021 - Leading food and beverage company, Yeo Hiap Seng (Malaysia) Bhd (Yeo’s), has launched Yeo’s Helping Hands, a CSR programme furthering the company’s efforts to reach out to communities in need.
The first initiative under Yeo’s Helping Hands will see food aid packs being distributed to about 28,000 B40 families most affected by COVID-19 on their lives and livelihoods.
Kuala Lumpur, 16 July 2021 - In response to distressed Malaysians whose livelihood have been disrupted by the on-going MCOs, Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) and Direct Selling Association of Malaysia (DSAM) have joined hands to raise emergency funds to purchase essential food supplies for those in desperate need. With the aim of raising RM500,000 from this initiative, food boxes are being distributed by both associations to more than 10,000 families within the Klang Valley and its adjacent vicinities since 3rd July 2021.
To date, the food boxes have reached 2000 families at 9 distribution locations including PPR Pantai Ria, Kuala Lumpur; PPR Sri Sabah, Kuala Lumpur; Kampung Tasek Permai, Ampang Jaya; Kampung Labu Lanjut, Sepang; Kampung Baru Sungai Chua, Kajang; Salak Selatan Baru, Kuala Lumpur; PPR Seri Nilam, Ampang; PPR Hiliran Ampang, Kuala Lumpur; and PPR Pandan Mewah, Ampang. More locations are currently being finalised for on-going distributions. In these events, each recipient will receive a food box containing rice (5kg), instant noodles, vermicelli noodles, sardines, baked beans, malt-based chocolate drink powder and biscuits.
KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 - Sportswriters Association of Malaysia (SAM) today contributed 16 food pack to it's member who will be on duty at Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 next week.
SAM shows concern toward its members well being as they foresee the challenges to move around to purchase food and beverages during the event especially at the current Covid19 pandemic situation in Tokyo.
Being aware of the movement limitation at the Olympic venues, SAM prepared some food pack mostly consist of instant food and drinks that can be prepared in a short period of time. Hopefully with this sorted out, their task at Tokyo Olympics will be less burden and can be carried out smoothly. SAM already contacted the Olympics administrative to ensure the kind of food that are allow to bring into Japan.
"Even though SAM contribution is only a small amount, but at least we will be able to lighten their burden when they face difficulties to get food throughout the event in Tokyo. “We would like to appreciate and thank those who step up to sponsor products and cash for the food packs,” said SAM Secretary General, Asan Ahmad. Special appreciation to Malaysia Athletic Federation (MAF) President, Datuk S. M. Muthu, Hairuddin Omar, Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd and Shekinah PR for their contribution.
The first batch of media will be flying off to Tokyo on July 17.
