The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) announced that its deputy chief executive Datuk Ahmad Fairuz Zainol Abidin has completed his contract at the SC and has been appointed as a judicial commissioner.
Following this appointment, Datuk Ahmad Fairuz left his position as a deputy chief executive at the SC on March 31.
Datuk Ahmad Fairuz joined the SC in 2012 as the executive director of Enforcement and was appointed as the deputy chief executive in 2016.
During his term, the SC has successfully secured a number of landmark cases and the SC chairman Tan Seri Ranjit Ajit Singh thanked Datuk Ahmad Fairuz for playing a vital role in leading and directing the SC’s enforcement efforts.
Datuk Ahmad Fairuz’s appointment as a judicial commissioner follows several other appointments to the Judiciary from the SC alumni.
